Known by his peers as “Rolly”, Cuban American prospect Rolando Romero burst onto the boxing scene in 2016 after a relatively short and unknown amateur career. Looking to turn pro, Rolly walked into Mayweather Boxing Club and challenged anyone who was willing to get in the ring with him. After weeks of cleaning out sparring partners, Floyd Mayweather was impressed and offered him a contract with Mayweather Promotions.
Rolly’s a self-proclaimed knockout artist with a puncher’s mentality and a boxers skill set. He is a viscious body puncher with power in both hands. Romero currently boasts an 90% KO ratio as 7 of his 10 opponents haven’t made it past the 2nd round. Outside of the ring, Rolly is a huge personality. He’s often known on social media for trolling his rivals, engaging in spontaneous Q&A sessions with his fans on instagram live, or giving his take on upcoming matchups and the state of affairs in this new era of boxing.
